D-Link Wins 2024 Taiwan Sustainability Action Award for Talent Development

D-Link Corporation (TWSE: 2332), a global leader in networking solutions, has been honored with the Silver Award at the 2024 Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (TSAA) for its “Multi-faceted Approach to Strengthening Networking Talent” initiative. This award, presented by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), acknowledges D-Link’s innovative efforts and impact in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its steadfast commitment to social and environmental responsibility. The award was accepted on behalf of D-Link by CFO Joanne Chen.

The Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards recognize the tangible contributions and outstanding achievements of businesses, educational institutions, hospitals, NGOs, and government entities in implementing the SDGs. For D-Link, this recognition is not only an affirmation of its long-standing dedication to sustainable development but also a motivation to continue driving sustainable initiatives in the future.

Since the United Nations introduced the 17 SDGs in 2015, D-Link has been committed to embedding these goals into its business strategies and organizational culture. Through diverse and innovative strategies and concrete actions, D-Link has consistently pushed the boundaries of product development and technological innovation in the networking solutions industry. The company has also focused on environmental protection, social inclusion, and economic development, driving a series of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) projects aimed at resonating with society and creating positive impact.

In terms of social inclusion, D-Link is dedicated to using its professional expertise to give back to society, enhancing the influence of both the company and the industry on social well-being. In alignment with SDG 4: Quality Education, D-Link provides high-quality networking education to stakeholders at various stages and levels, advocating lifelong learning for professionals to ensure sustainable talent development. This approach not only strengthens the organization’s human capital but also enhances the company’s competitiveness in sustainable operations. D-Link has pioneered the creation of a “Concentric Circle Networking and Cybersecurity Education Network,” which delivers multi-faceted training to students of different age groups and internal/external industry professionals. This strategy not only expands the industry’s skill sets externally but also nurtures talent internally, achieving the dual goals of broadening access to networking education and developing specialized expertise in the field.

The “Multi-faceted Approach to Strengthening Networking Talent” project, which earned D-Link the TSAA Silver Award, includes a wide range of initiatives. These include cybersecurity workshops for children, experience sharing and equipment support for high school and university students in ICT-related fields, scholarships in collaboration with universities, ongoing education for in-service networking professionals, donations of second-hand laptops to underprivileged groups, and the establishment of “D-Link Starlight Classroom” focused on character and educational development for students in rural areas. Over the past three years, D-Link has invested nearly NT$15 million in these initiatives, with over 550 corporate volunteers contributing more than 15,000 hours of service, benefiting over 15,000 individuals. These efforts aim to provide resources, manpower, and information to underserved regions and disadvantaged groups, improving education quality, enhancing living conditions, and laying the foundation for sustainable education to cultivate future talent for the industry.

Looking ahead, D-Link will continue to leverage its corporate resources, working hand-in-hand with stakeholders to drive more innovative social engagement programs and expand its global influence. The company aims to inspire more cross-industry collaborations, foster corporate innovation, enhance sustainable competitiveness, and create positive social value, guiding the younger generation towards a brighter future.
