Social Engagement
D-Link markets networking equipment to the world and is the most popular in the global consumer networking equipment market. In addition to providing excellent products and services, D-Link established the core spirit, "localized charity activities", through the Care Club, the Outing Club and the Public Relations Office. D-Link is actively organizing and responding to various social care activities. The Company hopes to connect love and good deeds with social needs through its involvement in technology.
In 2023, D-Link worked with 32 charity partners and invested 2 times more resources than the previous year, over $5 million, to implement 30 social engagement projects/activities, benefiting a total of 9,351 people, including social welfare organizations, children in remote areas, social enterprises, sports teams, people with physical and mental disabilities, disadvantaged groups, etc.

D-Link partnered with SPBOOK bookstore to collect the books, while SPBook assumed the responsibility in selling them for charity. This initiative ensures that books and knowledge reach the places where they are truly needed. All proceeds from the charity sale were donated to the social welfare organization designated by D-Link – the Foundation for Stray Animals, to show compassion for stray animals and find shelters form them.

To protect the Earth and share resources, D-Link rallied its employees to donate the collected second-hand toys to the “Taiwan Toy Library Association”. As an environmental conservation and education initiative, it aims to spread companionship to every corner of society through age-appropriate and suitable toys and curriculum activities.

To encourage employee participation in charity activities and leverage their networking skills, D-Link has specially invited around 20 underprivileged children from Joy Caring Association Taipei to visit D-Link headquarters. They participated in a comprehensive charity event called “D-Link, The Link Summer Charity Camp,” which integrates networking, information security, ESG education, and career sharing. The event was kicked off by the Chairman of D-Link, who encouraged the children to study hard, enrich themselves, and aspire to become future talents in the networking industry. This is the first time that D-Link introduced charitable activity into the workplace. Employees from each department volunteered to play with the children in sustainability challenge games, to learn about green food and participate in fun and lively physical activities.

Collaborating with the “Step30 International Ministries”, we collected and organized second-hand bags, then transported them to third-world countries in Africa. By introducing them to impoverished villages and schools, we aim to improve the basic living conditions in these localities. This initiative is a gesture of love and care for the extremely impoverished areas of Africa, and these second-hand bags sent across the oceans are manifestations of valuable blessings.

D-Link collaborated with the “Chinese Christian 521 Fuyuan Whole Person Care Association” located in Wugu, and invited 30 children tutored by the association to visit D-Link headquarters and participate in the trendiest sustainability education camp. The event started with D-Link’s CEO sharing global perspectives and cultural experiences of working in a multinational company. He encouraged the children to strive for success and embrace the world with an open mindset. The team of D-Link volunteers accompanied the participating children to visit the company and learn about self-protection in the online world. They played challenging SDGs sustainability education games, made mosaic coasters using recycled materials from beverage bottles and Styrofoam, enjoyed local and seasonal green food, and participated in physical fitness activities to promote a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

D-Link launched the “The Disabled & Massage Project” in August 2022, employing visually impaired massage therapists with a Level B Massage Technician License as regular employees. They provide regular services every week to alleviate the fatigue of colleagues. Colleagues can enjoy professional massage services by paying a token fee. D-Link donated all massage fees to social welfare units. The massage fees for January to March amounted to a total of NT$21,350, all of which are donated to the “Association for Sports and Leisure Service for the Disabled”, the organizer of the annual “Asia Paralympic Games for the Disabled”.

On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival, in response to the ‘Love Pomelo 2023’ organic pomelo subscription event initiated by the D-Link Care Club and the Outing Club, colleagues were invited to take action to support agriculturally friendly products. The profits generated will be used for the dinner of rural children tutored by the Hualien County Growth Holistic Care Association. One act of kindness relieves pomelo farmers of worries, ensures the sustainable development of tribal industries and organic culture, and prevents rural children from going hungry.

Network Checkup – Joy Caring Association Taipei

A total of 3 people participated, assisting the association in identifying the root cause of network problems. The internet speed was upgraded from below 100 Mbps to 300 Mbps to ensure smooth connectivity for the 7 devices in the organization.
Joy Caring Association Taipei has long suffered from issues such as poor internet connectivity and disconnections, which has adversely affected the learning of the children tutored by the association. After observing and testing network equipment by D-Link volunteer engineers, it was discovered that the networking issues at the association were not due to inadequacy but interference caused by too many routers, resulting in poor network quality. Therefore, D-Link volunteer engineers assisted in removing some routers and adjusting their positions, restoring the network speed from the original less than 100M to 300M. This improvement also resulted in smooth connectivity for the seven tablets and desktop computers within the organization.

In collaboration with the “Jen Ji Shiang Social Service Institute Taipei City”, D-Link distributed canned and dry food to food banks, community dining rooms and public refrigerators, so that the food originally expected to be discarded can be picked up and eaten by those in need, which is particularly beneficial to seniors and underprivileged children in the community, as disadvantaged families will no longer go hungry, and food is shared with everyone in need.

In the second half of 2023, the ‘Arty Charity’ project was launched. Employees can use the charity points obtained from participating in D-Link charitable activities to exchange tickets to arts and cultural performances. This not only rewards employees who are enthusiastic about charity, but also supports diverse arts and cultural organizations, a truly win-win situation.

D-Link employed visually impaired massage therapists with a Level B Massage Technician License as regular employees to provide regular services every week to alleviate the fatigue of colleagues. For the months of April to June, the total massage fees amounted to NT$17,500, and the entire sum was donated to Taipei Private Maternal and Child Homes, which was dedicated to early childhood intervention services.

Collaborated with the “Happy Store of Corporation Chinese Visually Impaired Anyang Welfare Association”. The association provides a sheltered workplace for people with disabilities through the Happy Store. It also serves as an affordable shopping place for economically disadvantaged individuals. The revenue generated from the sale of second-hand items is primarily used to pay salaries of employees with disabilities. The Happy Store serves as a location for people to donate their unused household items, so that usable resources will not be wasted, and also, it is a way of giving back to the society.

Dagouxi Environmental Education

In the early days, flooding in the Neihu District is quite frequent, so the government has put in lot of efforts to seamlessly integrate the natural landscape of Dagouxi with flood control projects. The Public Relations Office collaborated with the Outing Club and Children Care Club to plan a half-day tour of Dagouxi Riverside Park. Through environmental education activities, colleagues gained insights into disaster prevention, water management, and experienced the beauty of the local scenery by visiting the riverside trails.

Since 2017, D-Link’s employees have been subscribing to the Heart Lake Flower Shop on a weekly basis. The Company ordered 260 bouquets of flowers each year to help people with physical and mental disabilities find confidence and develop self-sufficiency while beautifying office spaces and allowing staff to heal their bodies and minds through the fragrance and energy of flowers and plants.

Q4 Network Checkup – Association for the Promotion of Autism Adaptation to Sports and Leisure in the Republic of China

A total of 2 volunteers participated in assisting the social welfare organization to identify the root cause of their network issues. After the D-Link volunteer engineers conducted tests and installed D-Link R18 AX1800 Smart Router, smooth network connection was restored.
“Association for the Promotion of Autism Adaptation to Sports and Leisure in the Republic of China” is located in Sanchong District, New Taipei City. It currently serves nearly 200 individuals with autism. In addition to providing early intervention services, the association also organizes various courses and activities on holidays. The association’s classrooms are located in the basement, and due to the lack of extended networking equipment, there are frequent issues such as weak signals or disconnections when accessing internet through WiFi. After the D-Link volunteer engineers conducted testing and installed the D-Link R18 AX1800 Smart Router, the internet connection became smooth. This improvement allows for seamless playback of audiovisual content during various courses and ensures uninterrupted completion of the courses. Staff members can also operate more efficiently when uploading data or handling various tasks.

On Christmas Eve, the D-Link volunteers visited the “Firesticks Social Welfare Association” in Tamsui District, New Taipei City. The volunteer teacher used lively teaching methods to engage the children with questions and interactions. The event coincided with the winter solstice, one of the 24 solar terms. Despite the chilly weather, the enthusiasm of the D-Link volunteers remained undiminished. This year, a total of 45 D-Link employees participated with enthusiasm, raising 232 pairs of shoes. All these shoes were donated to the “Shoes for Life” initiative by the “Step30 International Ministries”, as a symbol of love to be sent to Africa.
