Social Engagement

D-Link markets networking equipment to the world and is the most popular in the global consumer networking equipment market. In addition to providing excellent products and services, D-Link established the core spirit, "localized charity activities", through the Care Club, the Outing Club and the Public Relations Office. D-Link is actively organizing and responding to various social care activities. The Company hopes to connect love and good deeds with social needs through its involvement in technology.

In 2023, D-Link worked with 32 charity partners and invested 2 times more resources than the previous year, over $5 million, to implement 30 social engagement projects/activities, benefiting a total of 9,351 people, including social welfare organizations, children in remote areas, social enterprises, sports teams, people with physical and mental disabilities, disadvantaged groups, etc.

D-Link once again demonstrated its commitment to care about society by leveraging its expertise in network communication to provide professional network checkups, resolve network issues, and organize engaging, informative information security workshops as a public service, teaching disadvantaged children how to use the internet responsibly and ensure information security.

Cooperated with the “Yushi Community Development Association” and donated second-hand children’s books to children from vulnerable families in the local Caotun Town, Nantou County community. These children’s books help with their studies and cultivate reading. These children’s habits and diverse development skills provide children in the community with more learning opportunities and indirectly shorten the urban-rural gap.

Network Checkup (Q2)

  • Conducted a network checkup for a social welfare organization and provided a router. A total of 3 participants were involved.
D-Link engineers volunteered at the “Parenting Education Association” where they dedicated themselves to taking care of children from families with special needs and helped the association to solve the problem of slow internet connection. After installing the D-Link Mesh router, the network speed and network transmission efficiency were significantly improved, bringing a positive impact on the association’s service quality and the children’s learning environment.

“D-Link, The Link”Summer Charity Camp

During the charity summer camp organized the following year, 21 teachers and students from the EASNEWSTART Association were invited to participate. The camp offered a wide range of activities, including guided tours of product exhibitions, Internet and information security lessons, an eco-friendly handcraft course, an ESG workshop, career sharing sessions, and physical education activities. The students learned about Internet and information security through engaging stories. In the handcraft course, they created exquisite eco-friendly mosaic coasters, enjoyed local and seasonal green meals, and participated in physical activities to keep both their bodies and minds active.

Children’s Knowledge Enhancement Program

  • Donated 42 online accounts for children’s audiobooks to social welfare organizations and 8 to employees for parent-child bonding, totaling 50.
“MomDadStory” is a well-known educational brand in Taiwan, offering diverse stories for children aged 2 to 12 through audiobooks that convey narratives and knowledge in science, history, and more. In collaboration with the “D-Link, The Link” summer charity camp, D-Link engaged professional storytellers to vividly explain internet and personal data protection to underprivileged students. Concepts of network security were also shared through the MomDadStory” children’s audiobook app, enriching its audience’s understanding of internet-related topics. Furthermore, free accounts were provided to social welfare organizations and staff, establishing a foundation for internet education and enhancing children’s knowledge.

Love Pomelo 2024

  • A total of 27 people ordered 40 sets of pomelo gift boxes, with a total weight of nearly 120 kgs.
For consecutive years, D-Link supported the “Organic Pomelo Charity Pre-order” project of Seed in Land Social Enterprise. The Care Club and the Outing Club initiated the organic pomelo pre-order event, inviting employees to support the agricultural products planted with the friendly planting, and the profits generated will be donated to the “Hualien County Growth Holistic Care Association” for the dinners of the school children from rural townships under their counseling. This gift of love gives the pomelo farmers peace of mind and enables the sustainable development of the tribal industry and organic culture, whilst preventing the starvation of schoolchildren in rural townships.

Cooperated with the “Jen Ji Shiang Social Service Institute Taipei City” to distribute donated food to Food Bank, Refill Restaurant, and Food-Sharing Refrigerators based on the food’s characteristics. This ensures that food that would otherwise be discarded is turned into resources, providing those in need with access to and the ability to consume it.

Agri-food education Seminar

The Agri-food education seminar, initiated by the ESG Office for the first time, was organized by the “Liu-Kung Agricultural Foundation” under the commission of the Agriculture and Food Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture. It aims to promote the sustainability of rural villages, and improve the quality and yield of domestic agricultural products. The Agricultural Research Institute, Chiayi Branch, was invited to share the background of the pineapple industry and tips on selection, and the nutritionist from Mackay Hospital explained the nutritional value of pineapples, to increase the support of employees in the technology industry for domestic pineapples and promote the domestic market.

Cooperated with the “Hsinchu City Disabled Sports Development Association” and the “Miaoli County Social Welfare Promotion Association” to support sports promotion for people with disabilities and offer sports rehabilitation courses to social welfare institutions in rural areas. The purpose is to improve the physical and social skills of people with physical disabilities, and promote their health and self-confidence while helping the disabled and disadvantaged families embrace the concept of material sharing.

Network Checkup (Q3)

D-Link engineers volunteered to visit the “Primary Colors Rehabilitation Home”, a mental rehabilitation institution providing 24/7 services for people with mental and emotional disorders for network diagnosis. The organization requires a stable network to support the learning of 38 people with disabilities and the daily work of staff every day. However, due to improper wiring and complex configurations, frequent network interruptions occur and affect operations. After testing, our engineers volunteering installed D-Link Mesh Wi-Fi 6 dual-band wireless routers at the counters and areas designated for the disabled to effectively increase network speed and restore stable connections.

Jiannan Butterfly Garden Ecological Tour Event

Butterfly expert Huang Xingqi was invited as the tour guide, leading employees and their families on an ecological exploration at Jiannan Butterfly Garden—the only outdoor butterfly conservation area in Taiwan, located in Taipei’s Zhongshan District. The garden is home to a diverse array of nectar and host plants, providing an ideal habitat for butterflies and exemplifying the harmony between humans and nature. This immersive experience offered employees a valuable lesson from the natural world.

D-Link engineers volunteered to assist the Taiwan Digital Talking Books Association in Wanhua District, Taipei City, by resolving network issues. Upon inspection, identified that intermittent network disruptions were caused by disorganized wiring and router signal anomalies. After reorganizing the wiring and conducting tests, they installed a D-Link Mesh Wi-Fi 6 router, effectively resolving the disconnection issues and enhancing network stability and user experience.
