D-Link Releases 2024 Sustainability Report

D-Link (TWSE: 2332), a global leader in networking and connectivity solutions, has released its 2024 Sustainability Report in both Chinese and English, detailing the company’s progress in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. The report follows GRI Standards, SASB Standards, and the TCFD framework, while aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN Global Compact (UNGC), underscoring D-Link’s commitment to transparency and responsible corporate governance.

In the report’s preface, Chairman Victor Kuo emphasized that while technology drives innovation, it also brings greater corporate responsibility. He noted that technological breakthroughs matter, but applying technology responsibly creates lasting value for future generations. Guided by the vision of “Building Networks for People, Creating Sustainable Value,” D-Link integrated ESG principles across operations in 2024 from green product development and social engagement initiatives to governance enhancements and talent development programs, aiming to foster long-term value creation and a better future for all stakeholders.

Through stakeholder surveys and multi-channel engagement, D-Link identified and prioritized ten material topics, including talent recruitment and retention, supply chain management, green products, climate action, and ethical business practices. These focus areas guide the company’s sustainability strategy, with progress regularly reviewed by the Board of Directors and the ESG Committee to ensure continuous improvement.

D-Link delivered strong performance in corporate governance in 2024, ranking in the top 5% among listed companies in Taiwan and securing a Top 3 position globally in the S&P Global CSA assessment for the communications equipment sector, leading to inclusion in the Sustainability Yearbook. The company’s FTSE Russell ESG rating rose by 15.8% year-over-year, with governance scores achieving full marks for three consecutive years. Additionally, D-Link earned the highest possible score for tax strategy from S&P Global for the second year in a row, demonstrating a strong commitment to integrity and financial transparency.

On the environmental front, D-Link reduced GHG emissions by nearly 10% year-over-year in 2024, cut purchased electricity by 17.08% compared to the baseline year, and procured 80,500 kWh of green energy. Some product packaging also adopted FSC-certified materials to reduce environmental impact. These efforts earned D-Link a spot on Business Weekly’s “Top 100 Low-Carbon Competitiveness Companies” list for the second consecutive year.

To address the global transition toward net zero, D-Link has set clear short-, mid-, and long-term goals: enhancing CDP ratings and adopting ISO 46001 Water Efficiency Management Systems by 2025, completing carbon inventories and verification for subsidiaries and upgrading energy-saving equipment by 2028, and achieving 17.5% renewable energy procurement, installing solar PV systems, and adopting ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems by 2030, all supporting the company’s 2050 net-zero commitment.

On the social front, Chairman Kuo highlighted talent as the cornerstone of corporate sustainability. In 2024, D-Link increased average employee salaries by 4.12%, with 92.44% of employees receiving raises, and introduced retention bonuses for key talent. The company also joined the “2024 TALENT, in Taiwan” alliance to further strengthen human rights, diversity, and career development initiatives. Social engagement efforts expanded significantly, with D-Link partnering with 38 organizations to execute 36 community programs, benefiting nearly double the number of participants compared to 2023.

Innovation remained a core driver for D-Link in 2024, with five patents granted and 18 products and services winning international and domestic awards, including recognitions from Interop Tokyo and IoT Breakthrough. From high-speed connectivity to cloud management solutions, D-Link continues to advance technological innovation, enhancing product value and strengthening its position as a leader in the global networking industry. Looking ahead, D-Link reaffirms its commitment to the brand vision “One Connection • Infinite Possibilities,” integrating ESG principles across its business to create sustainable value, promote low-carbon transformation, and build a better future for generations to come.
